How Do You Separate Tarot Intuition from Personal Projection?

How do you mean? Your intuition on the card position in the context of the question and questioner? Since your impression of the card is based on the card it can’t be that.

If I’m surprised, it’s good, as that’s what I wanted, for the cards to give me insight on what I wasn’t aware of.

But sometime the cards don’t want to talk, or you’re asking the wrong question, or your emotions are in the way, or you are too desperate for a reading and it’s the 5th time that day and they just stop - so you don’t want to assume there is always meaning and one of you must be right. What people sometimes think is intuition isn’t, and vice versa.

Maybe? It’s not a uniform answer - read the card description and then intuit based on that.
There are some cards where the reverse is gentler or more desirable, and again it depends what you were asking.

You have to know yourself. When you know yourself, you know why you think and feel the way you do, why you know what you know, an from there you start to understand your interactions wit the world including the cards. To do that you start with being honest with yourself, put aside the insertions and 2nd guessing, and build experience over time with lots and lots of practice.

As far as methods do you might be interested in what they use in Controlled Remote Viewing, to describe not identify, and to write to the right side of the paper any conscious-mind assumptions, inserts, fears, side thoughts and identifications. They call them AOLs and S.T.R.A.Y. C.A.T.S.

I mention these here, among other places
