I’m like genuinely confused about this. So I made a post a week ago asking if the spirits in BoA are real. To which one of the responses I got, was that essentially you need to evoke those spirits a certain way. So now i’m thinking, why not try that. I go to read the Book of Azazel and the instructions are extremely unclear. I attached pics of some of the pages. For example, where do u draw the second gate? And all the other gateways, can they just be right next to each other on the wall? Which wall? I presume North. Forgive me but I’m somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to this stuff and when there is unclear directions like that idk what to do. Can anyone help?
You don’t need to use the gates. Any working method of evocation will suffice. Personally, I like to use EA’s general method from his book Evoking Eternity and then adapt as needed.
If you want to use the gates, the direction doesn’t matter. Just place one gate on each wall so that you are surrounded by them when you sit in the center in the Circle of Pacts.
The Book of Azazel has a simple summoning rite in it that can be utilized.
Anywhere you want, but respect it. I have it engraved on an amulet, a former girlfriend rubbed it joking about whether doing so would summon demons and that very night she called me over because one entity of the Legions had manifest in her room. That Entity wanted to initiate her, but she was just scared. After I cleared up the misunderstanding the entity returned to its world.
I have had success when drawing the gates of House Anatel, House Retztael, and House Malkash on large rocks propped upright, and using them in evoking these entities en-mass. I have had success in using all these magickal symbols drawn on paper, but recommend starting out by following the text and drawing the gates on a wall or similar surface.
I have rarely respected cardinal direction when working with these entities. I direct them to manifest their forms observably, and most of the time they manifest before me regardless of what direction I am facing. The rest of the time I turn to face the direction they appeared in. Directing them to manifest before me works to, and I do that depending on the space I am working in.
This includes the gates you inquire about. I don’t even know their cardinal correspondences because neither Azazel nor the Legions have emphasized the need for such in my personal practice. They don’t require a specific direction to function, but if you do find out what directions pertain to what gates please do share!
I’m not using gates. In fact I burn candle, paint sigil, sometimes offer my blood on it and call em of I have it or simply the name. It doesn’t takes long before the spirit is around.
Thanks all, I thought I was the only in the same boat as the OP.
I too found this really unclear.
I have called a spirit from the book using just sigil and name before. Definitely presented. Im used to feeling lots of different energies, but nothing as physically cold as Dra’talon showing up before.
Unfortunately, nil outcome or indications on any of the targets and its some years on now. I know D is known to take a while, but im now wondering if I communicated the request in a way that was clear enough.
Someone suggested that my not using the gates effects the ability of the entity to perceive or interpret the request. Anyone have thoughts on this?
