You trust your intuition.
All magik does is set up the energy for the universe to arrange itself to your will. Curses are the same. So it will always look like something else did the deed… only you will know why.

The person is a terrible human being who manipulates and uses everyone around them because she is beautiful. So I want to ruin all her relationships in her life.

I knew I had a hex on me because my ex had been practicing for decades, I left him after a miracle, my guardians and divination said I was, I was losing a lot of hair, had no energy, I didn’t feel like myself.

There are dozens of ways to cast a hex if your a beginner and never cast a curse it probably will not be successful. You can’t just break out the candles and grab a ritual for harm without having any experience.
The first thing to any successful castings is that you will have to have a deity or patron deity accede or accept that casting to carry it forward without a deity willing to do accept your task it will not move forward.
Even with chaos magic calling on all the forces of darkness of the universe if you do not have a patron it could move forward but you would lose control and not knowing which deity has acceded to you and don’t know who your dealing with, the results and outcome might be completely different than what you cast and could even come back to you.
I have cast several hexes, the first step is critical and first did a divination first to see if my target had any magical background, talents or shielding from a patron deity. Once I learned they had no shielding or magical skill I then proceeded with several castings employing chaos magic which was not acceded to and received several warnings not to cast my hex or I would receive harm.
My solution was to cast for knowledge first, I acquired a patron deity and formed a pact with that deity.
How do you know it was your curse and not just coincidence that is causing misfortune or harm.
Many times you will know the person and through mutual friends or your own connection you will hear about their misfortune and not through coincidence but deliberate unexplainable events that are beyond bad luck. If you have a patron he will walk you through the curse, eventual outcome and each misfortune that will befall your target.

Before you throw a hex or curse I recommend doing some research first and see what deity you would like to work with to carry your magical work forward, you might also want to make a pact or agreement first with that deity, you can refer to these books:

Only curse I ever done was on my ex with a lot of anger as fuel. I wanted him to feel pain and misery for what all went down, next day he got in a car accident with his parents, his parents were perfectly fine but he himself ended up an amputee and miserable. How I know it was mine? Because a lot of things aligned with my intentions.

Used the nidstang before on a farmer that deserved a lesson in respect. Their crops died, their livestock died, their pets died, last I knew of their farm was foreclosed, because they couldn’t grow or raise anything there anymore. I know what the cause was through intuition and sheer improbability of 100 acres of crops dying out, then nothing growing on the land thereafter in addition to the other things.
