Don’t know which element to start with

I’m reading Franz Brandon’s initiation into hermetics and I just don’t which element I should focus on.

I know each element can lead to amazing abilities, but since I’m a beginner I want know to the basics, the physical benefits.

the book says that practicing fire and allow you to raise your body heat in in extreme cold and even raise the temperature of the area around you and water can do the same but with cold instead, but what about air and earth

What benefits would I gain?

It’s possible to start with Earth and then continue with Water, so according to an order from the more solid to the subtlest element.
A thing which probably applies to all the elements but is maybe more serious for some of them, e. g. Fire, is the danger related to possibly absorbing them. For example in case of breathing a certain number of inhalation shouldn’t be exceeded. But of course it’s also possible to work with the elements in other ways.

Air is the intellect. It can improve leaps of logic and creativity. Breathe it out into a room and those present will start to have lively conversations. The downside of too much Air is lightheadedness, lack of focus, being disconnected from your body and environment, becoming an “airhead.”

Earth is grounding. It is firm and stable. It carries a sensation of warmth and dryness. It is a solid foundation for abundance and growth. It has the feeling of pure physicality. It can help you to reconnect with your body and can be used for building it up through exercise and even in healing injuries. Earth can be used to earn money through work and effort and obtaining gems and precious metals.

The downside of too much Earth is heaviness, laziness and sloth. Think about how you feel after you eat a large, heavy meal. Breathe Earth out into a room and those in it will become tired and listless, and may even fall asleep. It can be used to bring calm to conflict and arguments of Fire, or to ground the lack of focus of Air. It can bring stability to the emotional turbulence of Water.

I think it was Jason Miller in one of his books who described breathing out each element into different rooms and watching how the people in those rooms were affected. Fire made people horny, Air made people talkative, Water made people emotional, and Earth made people into unmotivated couch potatoes.

To decide which element to start with, my advice would be to take a look at your own personality and go with whichever one you feel is your weakest. For example, if you’re the quick to anger type, you have too much Fire so I would start with Water. If you’re emotional, start with Air, If you have too much Earth, start with Fire, etc. We contain all four elements in varying degrees, but we generally have a primary element that is the most dominant, so to help bring balance, chose the one you have the least of.

That sounds awsome when finally get to a martial arts class I’ll practice with the earth element

Darkestnight gave a great example of the elemental influencial relationship aspects so literally take notes in your shadow book.

However, You should learn which element you were born with accordingly in regards to your Astrological chart. From there you will know which is your most potent and which is the lesser than.
NOTE: All things of our material realm are made of the 4 governing elements and even they have relationships with each other.

The question that should be asked is, “what are your plans and/or intentions”?
♤♡◇♧ Ultimately and realistically, you always work with them all.
Depending on the results/action desired, you may need to focus on 1 of the 4.

Keep me posted on results
Thank you

Well I just research and apparently my element is air which makes sense, when I’m into something or I find something cool I like to talk about it with someone I know a lot in fact I’m learning to stop with all the chattering, soo I guess I should start with air.

I’m actually a little happy cause since my first time watching Star Wars I wanted to moves objects with my mind, and my obsessive research has told me that though telekinesis is the element of the spirit therefore the most difficult, the second best which might even be more powerful and easier to learn is aerokinesis.

Actually I think I’m both air and water since I tend to be emotional from time to time and I prefer cold over hot

Which kind of sucks since I work outside in Orlando
