I had the same experience and some stray dogs even protected me from a random drunk guy when I was working with Anpu. Not a dog god per se, but he’s very good with protecting. He’s also patron of orphans and anyone who’s alone or feels invisible.

I love dogs so much. They’re just so sweet and innocent and loyal. I have two.

I’ve started working with lykania hecate, who is the werewolf aspect of hecate among other things. She indeed likes doggos

Hecate would be good, Artemis as well, Luna and also most moon goddesses

Grimms are fun, hellhounds of course, there’s Cerebros and for God’s there’s Anubis, Set, Wepwawet.
There’s the dog star Sirius as well.

You can also go into Necromancy and work with ā€œghost houndsā€.
There are also power animals you can call on

There are a lot of doggie gods and hell hounds actually:

  • Hekate (one of her familiars is the black hound)

  • Xolotl (dog-headed god of lightning and fire)

  • Anubis (jackal-headed god of the dead)

  • Morrigan (goddess of war, transforms into a wolf)

  • Odin (Odin has two dogs and is associated with the Wild Hunt)

  • Gwyn ap Nudd (The Welsh god of the Wild Hunt)

  • Cerebus (Hades’ guard dog)

  • Finrir (Loki’s wolf-son who will eat Odin in Ragnarok)

  • Cwn Annwn (White Welsh hellhounds of the Wild Hunt: thier name means ā€œdogs of the Otherworldā€.)

Those are just the ones from the top of my head

Abbadon from what I’ve experienced it’s linked to wolves/dogs. (especially the white ones) Also the white dog has some personal significance for me.

Morrigan isn’t a goddess of war but I did forget about Her wolf aspect :+1:

Finrir and Cerebus sound good any specific offerings for them

I get a feeling doggos out of the domesticated animals are very loyal to the ancient ones and can sense spirit energy around me thats why they come about sniffing and allow me to pet them also guard dogs like pit bulls etc don’t bark or growl at me this one dog who usually barks in my neighborhood just sat still when I walked by him the other day…

BTW I have a book about animal magick that lists familiars and has an index of ancient gods and their animal counterparts its called animal magick by DJ Conway its labeled as Wicca and Shamanism should check it out for info on animal occultism…

I had that book, i wouldn’t recommend it for Animal Magick, it’s not the best. DJ Conway is, eh at best. To start i’d recommend Ted Andrews Animal Speak more.
I have another one on Shamanism i’m about to read, i can let you know if it is any good but i do have a list i’m working on lol.

Not really a god but a rather a Saint(!). Reach out to St. Guinefort if you are feeling daring. He was a dog. A real dog. And a Saint. How awesome isn’t that?

Ya it does that, but don’t take it as gospel some of her descriptions I didn’t find accurate.

Dogs even have a saint… St. Bernard.
