Does Asmodeus = Eros?

Oof, while that is an amazing quote, I love those kind of things. I wouldn’t put too much thought into it, there’s always people throughout time that try and force beings together due to shared associations.

Polytheism is the belief or worship of more than one God or Goddess, but this quote in a way contradicts it because it’s basically taking polytheism and lowkey shifting it to monotheism by claiming these Gods/Goddesses are just other names of one God or Goddess.

Thanks so much for your thoughts. Like I said, thinking about these things both intrigues me and gives me a headache. I’ll go take a couple of asprin now.

How does Ares help with love exactly?

ancient Mediterraneans liked to merge their gods to add power to spells, ex: Hermes-Thoth, Hekate-Isis, Hekate-Cybele. I think this was common in the greek magical papyri spells and defixiones. Hekate was quite often synthesized to add power, the book liminal rights explains this pretty well.
