If I was doing baneful magick would it help if I was feeling angry? Could the demon use my anger energy to empower the curse?
Yes rather they take it and transform it in the direction you want
No. A release of anger is not necessary for evoking a demon.
There are baneful rituals that do use emotions for fuel, though, like a Ritual Release of Hatred.

They do take energy in some way to manifest. It can be through anger, but that’s far from the only way.
