This is a hypothetical question, but supposing that I want to do a sort of “revenge” (more like bringing long due consequences) to someone, is it advisable to do an emotional and energetic detachment work first or after the revenge work? This would be to avoid any form of kick back or rebound effect towards myself. Asking because I have experienced doing revenge work on someone and then it bounces back to me terribly.
It depends on the type of baneful work you want to do. A ritual release of hatred, for example, requires strong emotion for its power and to prevent the rebound you mentioned, the key to this style of baneful magick is to completely exhaust that emotion within the ritual. You should leave a ritual release of hatred feeling absolutely nothing for your target anymore.
The other style of baneful work is to approach it like a paid assassin would. You have no personal stake in the ritual and no attachment to the target so you can look at it in a cold and methodical way. In the OAA, EA Koetting’s former esoteric order, he would have students use baneful magick against targets of his choosing, for example, so they could understand how to do the work when they have no personal connection to the target.
