Can i just meditate to reach my goals?

hi there! i been into magick for a while but i am very much a begginer… i was friends with robert bruce before he passed. (still am! ) i was always facinated with his stories.

my question is pretty simple… can i open up all ablilities simply by meditation only??

i read franz bardons work and i love it but it gives me a headache. im incredibly right brained and i struggle with intilectual stuff. i also have parkinsons disease so anything like yoga is tough… its hard for me to stand and i use a cane daily. in IIH i often feel like i will get horrible karma if i basically do anything wrong… i love the book but literally when i read it i get the impression if i am not snow white at all times then god will take away my abilities xD also… i cant for the life of me wrap my ahead around some of the exercises and i dont know why. that being said its a beautiful book but it feels way to conplicated right now.

i tried the complete works of EA and its great but i felt like it doesnt introduce me to magick its almost like i felt like the book is for people who are already way deep into it.

this led me to conner kendalls book the black magicians handbook. i loved this! it was just what i needed but because of my past im not entirely into evocation right now.

i love all of these books but i cant seem to understand deeper stuff in the occult.

i have had spontanious obes before. i have had spontanious visions before… and even some clairaudience. but nothing to spectacular. its been hard because of my health but now i think im ready.

my question is can i reach step 10 in bardons book IIH just by meditation alone??

is magick really really complex or does it all come down to just quieting the mind and things build from there?? the elements fascinate me but i know people that have no clue how the elements work and they can set things on fire. simple pyrokenisis stuff… and they dont know anything of the elements they just say " they get in that space " theta state… etc.

also is energy work needed??? or do these things open up with meditation kinda naturally? i have watched bhuddist monks talk about teleportation but when they are asked about it they dont say anything… so it leaves me in the dark.

honestly clairvoyance, clairaudience, etc and mental travel are my goals.

im just wondering if im thinking too much. i feel like i been blocked because i have read so many systems now.

so… can all of this… be done and achieved simply by mastering meditation??

id appreciate the help so much i feel kind of stuck learning about all these kinds of magick. i also have heard of tom campbell where he says anything in magic can be done sinply by getting into point consciousness and holding it. i assume thats the theta state?

thanks everybody

That happens to every beginner, I wouldn’t worry much about it. Its a whole new world, you should be wondering after all.

About Initiation Into Hermetics, first of all why should God take your abilities? He didn’t take Koettings, a black magickian. Or perhaps you mean you will do an excersise wrong and start all over? That is going to happen, but you will be circling upwards, not going on the same one.

Ones in Initiation Into Hermetics? Probably not. Stuff such as Astral Projection, Clairvoyance/sentience/audience? I don’t see why not.

Thats why they are deeper, right? Get good with the simple ones first, time will tell if you will understand them or not.

In two books I read recently - Relaxing Into Being by Bruce Frantzis (Taoist meditation) and Meditation the First and Last Step by Ivan Antic (Rupa Dhyanam Buddhist meditation) - both authors say that at a certain stage with the meditations detailed in those books you will attain Siddhis or supernatural powers, including the ability to manipulate reality.

The Buddhist meditation regimen in Antic’s book is definitely more straightforward, but needs a lot of commitment. With both of them, the process would naturally take some time.

Pathworking is also something to look into. It’s a kind of dynamic meditation, where the “scenery” constantly changes, rather than focusing on one thing, as in most meditations.

Ps. I’ve never read IIH.
