Has anyone tried to boost GOM workings with candles, oils, herbs etc? I know that it should be enough to just do the internal alchemy and chant the words of power, but would there be any additional effect to adding things to ritual?

I added an Enochian banishing ritual and vibrated the Keys when I worked through Brand’s Success Magick. I found it gave more oomph to the simple rituals to my mind. It just felt more like I was actually doing magick rather than reading some words.
Generally, when I do GOM rituals without any ritual trappings, I have a bit of difficulty getting into a magical mindset because the simplicity makes it feel less magical to me. I’m a ceremonial magician at heart and I like the circles and the wands and the banishings and all of that stuff. I don’t usually add candles or herbs or anything though, just preliminaries like a banishing ritual as a “warm up,” to get in the mood.
