Blackbird of Chernobyl

Does anyone have any thoughts on this article? Can spirits be harbingers of disasters? Or drawn to the energy of disasters? The article says the blackbird had a headless body with piercing red eyes, which does not make sense, and leads one to think this is bunk, but it is interesting, so I thought I would post it.

Spirits being harbingers of disaster is a pretty common thing in folklore around the world.

In Ireland you have the banshee, a type of fae, usually attached to certain bloodlines, whose wailing foretells a death.

In North American lore you have the Mothman, a creature first sighted in 1966, and is said to have be a harbinger of disaster, foretelling a bridge collapse which killed 46 people in 1967. There have been many sightings since then, some even claiming it was seen in New York just before 9/11.

Those are just two well known examples of spirits/creatures as harbingers of doom.
