Bind/binding?

What does binding mean?
When you bind someone to or for something?
I’ve never quite understood what this ever meant.

Simply, to keep someone bound, or magickally impotent over you.

Ime it’s to bind an action. So a person or a spirit cannot perform that specific action. Also, to make them magickally disempowered or disabled.

Best used in magickal warfare. But that’s my experience.

Basically, a binding is to prevent someone from doing something. During the ritual, you specify what you want bound. For example, “I bind N, from speaking against me and spreading gossip,” or “I bind the powers of those working against me so they cannot bring harm to me or mine.”

In the movie The Craft there is a good example of a binding spell.
