Baptism, Will it hinder me and how to undo it

When I was a teenager I was lost and looking for anyone with answers, I was pressured into being baptized in the Christian faith, I am no longer a member of the church and I haven’t been for years, and I am going to avoid delving into much detail because this topic could get off track really fast. But I was curious if my past baptism would make it difficult for me to perform Evocation or any other type of magic. Before I joined this forum I never even considered it as a possibility. Would someone with more knowledge on the subject care to enlighten me? And if it’s necessary show me how to remove the restraints of baptism

I was baptized as a Mormon and have done baptisms for the dead in my teens. I don’t seem to have a problem, regardless of whether it’s an angel, demon, or anything else.

I don’t know that it would really hinder evocation or other workings. I know some active Christians and other religious folk who also practice magick of various sorts.

If you absolutely feel a need to renounce your ties to Christianity, there are rites for doing so. Search the site, and you might see some. There are rites for blasphemy and other ritualized methods of severing ties with former religious paths.

Baptism is a rite of acceptance into a community, if you wish to view it in that way (it would depend on the denomination into which you were received), whether done in infancy or old age.

You can be involved in, and accepted into, more than one community at one time.

Personally, I prefer not to burn bridges, and that includes spiritual ones. I feel no overwhelming need to renounce one faith in order to accept another, or to practice the rituals of a completely different tradition. But you might. We’re all different, and have different approaches.

I was baptized as a baby and it hasn’t hindrred me in the slightest.

@Hypnos
I was baptized in the Baptist denomination, and it was done as a teenager, I don’t believe I was ever baptized as a infant. The amount of rage I have against the Abrahamic faiths and Yahweh inspires a level of anger and passion that makes my blood boil every time. But if simply renouncing my loyalty was enough to sever my ties to the Christian faith and baptism in and of itself is not a hindrance then I think any other attempts to sever ties would be redundant. Thank you🖤

It’s only going to hinder you if you allow it too. Your in control, remember that.

I had a similar problem. once I realized that it wasn’t the church blocking my power, it was myself, I was able to work through my issue. Basically if you believe you’re blocked then you are. Not because of a baptism but because you believe it. Convince yourself of your power and it will emerge.

Lots of so called “right hand path” people evoke demons thinking that Lord their god gives them power to command demons or whatever. Being baptized is not a hindrance to that. Where some people find it to be a problem is this whole thing about the church community or whatever, or about a sense of belonging to the church.

To really undo a baptism, it helps to understand the symbolism in depth behind it. I’m thinking of doing a video serious exploring the religious “sacraments” and how they enslave people coming from a perspective of just your average church goer thinking they are getting something out of it, but not really sure what they are getting.

I was baptized both on the waters and on the spirit (speaking in tongues and making miracles in the name of jesus and all of that). I never “undid” those baptisms lol. Just left that faith for the most part.
Well to be fair, i left all faith, rejected all religions. i did become full atheist for a few years (like hardcore, militant, debate bro, atheist) before start practicing witchcraft.
Funny enough it was witchcraft that kinda let me to “forgive” both God and myself ( ). I feel like i’m in a far better relationship with God than i was before. Before it was a relationship full of shame and fear and “ignored” resentment bulking up inside of me. (i’m bisexual and as you probably know, the god depicted in the bible is not friendly to that idea lol). There was a lot of self-hate. Religion helped me for a little bit, then it hurt me very very much. It took me years to finally accept myself even after leaving the church.

The short answer is:
Do you have to unbaptize yourself to practice magick? No.
Can you? Yes you can. If that’s what you want you can. It’s your path, it’s your rules. Do what feels right for you.
One of the things that’s so attractive to many of us is that Magick = Freedom. You’re your own master and you live by your own rules.

I think that’s a great idea. Any chance you’ll touch on Catholic Easter stuff in it if you do like the whole new fire thing they do At Easter.

I was raised in a Catholic family and they almost got me with that stuff hook line and sinker (but luckily it didn’t stick permanently)

Think it’s designed to overwhelm kids into buying into the whole stick. Give em lit candles and pomp and ceremony and they might not think wait a minute… this guy raised from the dead wtf?

You can do a undoing ceremony where you crush the cross, use the bible for what it is filth so best is to desecrate it and so on. As a highlight important is to say you reject that false light and you choose your true path, write it down. Some baptise themselves and with own blood choose the inverted Pentagram as the new path. There are lots of undoing ceremonies on the net. Choose the most significant one for your case

From what I understand, the ritual of baptism is a cleansing, and then an invocation of the Holy Spirit. In accepting Christ, one is then cleansed and accepts the Holy Spirit to dwell within

I’ll leave the discussion about the Holy Spirit to those more well versed, but my working theory is that it’s similar to other currents of power, but the trinity is a complex subject, and I’d do disservice in pretending I’m super informed on the matter. For now, let’s just say that the baptism gave you access to a stream of energy, a ‘key’ to that door.
You can use it, lose it, whatever you want dude.

How is having options hindering you? Christian forces arent at play making sure you can’t do ritual or talk to who you want to. I think more research as far as philosophy and different belief systems would help too, to get out of this ‘opposition mindset’ that we often get into
