Banishing ritual

Hi Community, I appreciate your help. If I do a mental invocation it is necessary do a banishing ritual ???

I would banish before you summon. Unless you don’t want the energy to linger.

I guess it depends on the purpose of your invocation, if you’re trying to assume or learn the energy qualities of the entity you might want it to linger and mingle with your energy.

If you’re doing something else you might not want it to linger- so yes you would banish when you’ve completed the working to send the energy left over away.

I don’t usually invoke, but I usually only banish before a working. Banishing prior can help you assume your getting the right entity and not just the closest one with a voice that hears your call- so it’s just good practice imop, but I don’t always do that either.

Sometimes I’ve done a big banishing ritual or house cleansing or something already, so I don’t feel it’s necessary to be ridiculous. Or I’ve done a working from a long term project and banished when I did that.

Ultimately I’d do what feels right, erring on the side of caution if necessary, but banishing before and not after would make the most sense to me in an invocation scenario.
