Astral senses development from different sources: Whats your experience?

I have read many evocation books to deepen my knowledge on the subject and to prepare myself to perform evocation one day. I’ve noticed that there are different methods to develop the astral senses, and that it is essential to develop them before the evocation ritual, or else you wont see/hear the entity.

I wanna know which technique did you all used and how was the experience. I live with my parents and they are very nosy, so i’m trying to find a way to develop my sense without them finding out. They are christian and i would not like them to see me skrying into a mirror nor find a black mirror in my room.(and trust me, they do investigate my room, as i said they are very nosy) So i’m considering using a technique that is very discreet, like using incantations or meditations.

From Evoking Eternity:

The EE technique for astral senses development consists in doing the invocation of omnipotence visualization, then lightning two candles and skrying the space between them. You should use the energy of omnipotence to command the nearby spirits to come, then keep asking yourself questions about them, like “where is the spirit” and “how tall is the spirit” until you can see and hear them completely.

From Works of Darkness:

The WOD method for astral senses development consists in skrying into a black mirror after opening the sigil of a skrying related spirit like Sastan or Mepsitahl. Then the magician should either visualize things until they appear on the mirror or wait until images appear on it, depending on which spirit is called. You should also follow a order of entities to help you develop the senses completely

From Summoning Spirits by Konstantinos:

In this book the process starts by first visualizing images and sounds to develop the senses, later the magician should start skrying. In this book you should project your visualizations onto the mirror until you can see them, then you start skying into the darkness of a room without any light entering, and project you visualizations into the darkness until you can see and hear them. This book also requires a kind of soul travel that should be learned before evocation, because you would have to visit the spirit’s real and bring them with you during the evocation ritual.

From Samael Aun Weor: Chakra development (Rosacrucianism/Gnosis):

This method is based on hyperdeveloping the throat and/or the ajna chakra to develop the senses. It is believed that the throat chakra is responsible for clairaudience and the ajna chakra is responsible for clairvoyance, to develop these habilities you should meditate between 30min/1hour a day focusing on the chakra which correspond to the astral sense you want to develop.

Example: Meditate on the ajna chakra with the “EEEEEEE” mantra for 30min/1hour a day to develop clairvoyance; Meditate on the throat chakra with the “EEEEEEEEEH”(as in the word let) for 30min/1hour a day to develop clairaudience; Meditate on the ajna and vishuddha in turns by changing the focus each exhalation.

The “MESH KA REL LUHN SIM BA TA REL LUHN TIN SUGHEL” mantra from the BALG Forum:

According to a member of the forum he developed his clairaudience and clairvoyance by reciting that incantation 99 times a day.

I’ve used all of the above except the stuff from Samuel Weir.

If you want to develop your senses in secret, my advice would be to practice trancework and chant the mesh ka mantra (out loud if possible, but you can also chant internally if you have to). Then, whenever you have a chance, practice scrying into the air in front of you. This can be particularly fun if you can do it in a park or wooded area. I also recommend the exercises in Konstantinos’ summoning Spirits. They mostly involve mental work so there would be nothing for your parents to see except you sitting quietly.

That’s a good idea, finding a way so scry without a black mirror would make it easier for me. I’m planning to use the mesh ka mantra and to develop the throat chakra since clairaudience is my main goal in the moment.

The “scrying gaze” is the important part of learning to scry and you can practice that anywhere. The black mirror or crystal ball or bowl of water only serve as a focal point for your concentration. Getting into a trance state and softening your gaze on an invisible point in front of you does the same thing. Just make sure your eyes aren’t drawn to anything. For this reason, it might be advisable to first practice against a blank wall so there are no distractions to interrupt your gaze.

Also do some light energy work before hand so there is energy moving through your subtle senses.

do you know if the mesh ka mantra let’s you see and hear spirits only during evocation or the ability develops to the point of seeing them during everyday life?

It can trigger during every day life.

I recommend you check out Robert Bruce’s system for developing energy and chakras.

Is focusing on developing the Ajna chakra before the other chakras dangerous, and is the throat chakra really responsible for spiritual hearing?

According to this author(Samael Aun Weor) the throat chakra is responsible for clairaudience and developing that chakra would cause the person to develop clairaudience. But it requires a lot of daily mediation on that chakra until clairaudience is attained

Well, a former member of this forum developed his clairaudience while focusing on the Muladhara and vibrating the Bija mantra 20, 000 times, so it seems the particular chakra can vary.

It’s not dangerous per se, but it can cause unwanted side effects like depersonalization, mental instability, and hallucinations if it is not properly balanced with the other chakras.

You should start by bringing energy down through the crown into each chakra and out of the root before then bringing energy back up . This clears the system of any stagnant and dirty energy so you’re not bringing the dirt up from the root into the higher chakras.

How long did it take the forum member to develop these abilities? Months? Years? How long did it take for you to develop yours?

If I recall correctly, it took about a month. There was a mantra challenge on the forum years ago and it occurred during that.
