Physical distance doesn’t matter. You could project to the planet Mars if you wanted to.

Absolutely, but they need psychic senses to be able to pick up on your presence. So it may be only one way communication. I know that one member of this forum astrally scanned me once… I saw him and acknowledged his presence and he told me his user name, although I did not reach out to confirm in the physical.
If you can’t both connect with psychic senses, it is basically just remote viewing and while you may find some things turn you away due to warding in the astral, by and large the world is open to remote viewing! There are no limits on your distance of viewing, you could view the Andromeda Galaxy if you want.
