Are there similarities between Robert Bruce's Energy System and the Fire Tradition in Qigong?

Some time ago, I read Astral Dynamics and Energy Work by the late Robert Bruce… His system focuses on moving energy through the meridians, which he refers to as the secondary circuit, to clear energy blocks. I’m curious—would this approach align with what’s considered the fire tradition in Qigong? I’m not necessarily interested in that path, but I’m wondering if it falls into that category. He describes pushing energy through the pathways in specific directions to break up blockages, which seems reminiscent of the fire tradition to me. (At least from the bits of information I’ve read about this method of Qigong.)

Also, I was surprised when I searched this forum for “embryonic breathing” and couldn’t find any results. While this isn’t specifically a Qigong forum, I thought at least a few members might have mentioned it.

Embryonic breathing has different names in different systems so maybe try searching for general breathwork and see if any descriptions match up.

Yes, because the Fire approach is the most common in the West. Robert Bruce’s system is basically a mishmash of theory taken from traditions like yoga, and qi gong, and mixed with his own UPG. The main difference in technique is that he emphasizes the feeling of energy moving in the body rather than just using the mind to force it.
