Or are they separate types of things.
a lot of people would say no! but let me tell you. There are 2 types of beings besides animals.
- humans
- Djinns
So any spirit you are working with is a Dijnn. However, the difference is similar to how we humans say hes white, hes black. Race or more so tribe.
Djinn in arabic islamic mythology describes djinn as several tribes. One of which is called Shaiytan which basically means demon in english.
Hope that helps.
Back in the Summer of 9th grade, I got a small red book called “Field Guide to Demons.” This is where I originally heard of the Djinn. As well as other creatures like Rusalka and Wendigo. I’m familiar with a basic story about Iblis, being a djinn who was taken up by God to Heaven, but was exiled after he wouldn’t bow before Adam. Then he went back to the Djinn and created the Shaiytan.
Why do demons have to be one or the other? Why can’t they be their own beings?
Do you really think, in the entire vastness of this multiverse we live in, that there are only angels and djinn? Or angels and demons? Those are labels given by religion to make things simple, but the universe is so much more complex than that.
There are gods, goddesses, demons, angels, djinn, fae, devas, asuras, saints, aliens, land spirits, divinities, powers, and the list goes on and on. We humans love to classify things in order to aid our understanding, but the truth of it all is, “there are more things in heaven and earth than dreamt of in our philosophy,” to paraphrase Shakespeare’s Hamlet.
We don’t really know what a demon is, or what a djinn is, any more than we really know what a tree is. We haven’t a clue what makes a tree a tree, its essence or “tree-ness.” We can only go by what we experience, so we could describe a tree to a blind man, and he could touch it, but we can never tell him what actually makes it a tree, and not a rock, or flashlight.
Well yes, from an Islamically influenced point of view. I don’t think this applies well outside that POV, however. I think some of Goetia are Jinn but most of them are not, to answer OP.
All of written mythology is given to us through the human perspective, which is generally self-absorbed. We like to assume good and evil based on what is in our favor or against it. We rarely like to think about how we affect others, but obsess how others affect us.
No, not in my experience. I have djinn I work with and there are similarities to some Goetic, but another answer is that it doesn’t matter. Do they assist and educate? Fae aren’t djinn. Neither are more elemental land spirits. Both have helped me.
The point is that it is largely irrelevant to one’s actual practice, unless there’s an actual reason for this question?
There are Goetic spirits that are djinn yes but to say they all are is patently false.
Look here is King Bael a djinn? No obviously not.
Sitri is he a Djinn…nope not even close
Dantalion pretty much everyone agrees he is
Asmoday yes we can pretty much say for certain. He even has a djinn name. Sakhar.
Orobas not even close he’s a fallen angel.
In the Goetia you have about 30% fallen angels ( as per the Ars Goetia), and the rest is a Mish mash.
But…but how does it actually matter like @anon39079500 said.
This is purely from an islamic point of view, and btw there’s also angels but in islam angels do not have freewill which is not the case in judaism … there’s too much contradiction in JCI
okay so let me explain this:
@DarkestKnight said there is fae devas and saints, and land spirits.
Land spirits are the djinn. They are a tribe of djinn the follow King Taresh. Their also called land spirits because they were here first on earth and because of this tribe and take land for their tribe and live in it.
Angels is also a religious mythology and act as gods warrior and right hand. Which to me does not make sense because why would we accept that and not the other???
Fae: do not exists. they are djinn: (imposters) make u believe what u want to get energy or blood out of you.
Saints: are basically humans who lived once upon a time and were very religious and obedient to god. When they died. Thats when the devil had his first break through into influencing the human mind to disobey god. So the devil used these saints to influence people after them and make statues off them and have them worship them instead of god. It all goes back to the main goal between god and the devil, of course according to religions.
I gave my knowledge and what I know.
Last note: As much as it sounds as i am a muslim or a god worshiper, I hate religion and god and I choose the bath of damnation. However that doesn’t mean I am going to invent a new story that suits my new path. Accept reality for what it is instead of trying to hide from it. Some can say this is my UPG and some may agree that it is actually true. Its all up to you.
Go search the history and if u still do not believe, you may still refer to jewish or islamic religions books and see it all says the same thing. Side note: Angels do have free will but they choose to follow gods directions, meaning the only ones that do think and make or follow their own agenda are humans and Djinn.
Moreover, when I say those are the two beings that does not mean other elements do not have a soul or connected to the same source we are, which makes it in one sense alive as well but not a being by itself. For example elements, thought forms, semen (exists and has a soul in it but its not a being right? but that same semen can become an actual being) thats what i mean.
You’re entitled to box yourself in as you see fit. Clearly, those of us with actual experience NOT limited by dogmatic doctrine (did I say actual experience?) understand otherwise.
You have your right to narrow your experience the same as the rest that don’t seem capable of seeing more.
Your progress outsode of this narrow point of view is likely equally limited.
Best of luck. I’ll add you to the zealots list.
okay mr. experience, let me ask you this? are you a spiritual doctor that can do tests to prove this deity or spirit is fae or demon? aren’t demons shapeshifters? have you thought of how each spirit can manifest different energetic feelings to the magician? if so then how wouldn’t this make the imposter capable of making u believe that?
Plus, I did not address you specifically and call you out or be rude to you! If you do not agree thats up to you, but if you are going to address me I suggest that you do it respectfully. #Grow-up
Lastly: agreed or disagreed; respect is important for a healthy community. For spiritual debates, or conversational engagement. This type of defense and attack makes me understand why a lot in this forum are afraid to express their opinion and thoughts. Like damn some of you make it seem like this knowledge that yall have is just a written facts – smh
I am not denying this at all. As i said, this is my own conclusion from the research and study that I have done and experience. I also said that many would disagree and many would agree. Its all up to the reader and their experience. I am totally disappointed with this type of interaction.
Nope. This is wrong. As someone who actually works with the fae, I have never been asked for energy nor blood so this makes zero sense.
Again, nope. This is very much incorrect. I have encountered both land spirits, and djinn, and I know for a fact they are not even close to being the same kind of thing.
That…is ridiculous. Saints are seen as being intermediaries between believers and their god. They are considered to be ascended beings. They have nothing to do with the devil.
Hmmm, maybe you are right! but for me; my experience and research says other wise, so i don’t know. I think I explained my thoughts so I am not going to repeat it. However, I respect your opinion.
Have a good one!
I’ve cleaned up the last couple of posts, and closed this topic temporarily, so folks can take a breath. It will reopen tomorrow.
