My experience with Apollo is really basic and no he does not have a demonic form. I work with his Sister from time to time and she’s really playful and loves to slap my shoulder hard so yeah he could definitely do something like that.

Deities and demons tend to do that in order to prepare you for something. Usually to help you face your fears but also if we are going the oracle root, some visions might appear horrific but with meanings for you decipher. So you have to be strong enough to handle them I suppose.
