What has worked for me is a visualisation of my target through the black mirror and the ethereal bond between me and them, followed by hacking through it with my dagger.
I’ll dress it up with any ritual and/ or asociating scents, colors or sigils fitting to my intention to keep me clear and focused on it.

Less coming back together and more settling any issues is what I meant. Because it is common knowledge that people will act out of tension and emotion. However that is just one option of many you have in magick.
