So, I know that you can make talismans and other carriables that work to accentuate certain traits or workings that you’re trying to do, i.e. talismans that help with divination, amulets that help with astral projecting, etc. I recently was really enamored with this great leather cognac bottle from Spain depicting these faces and what looks like a man either falling off his horse, or resting nearby. It also had sword decorations on the side and this lovely chain.
I was wondering what to do with it, I definitely feel it’s too important and nice to use for any one-off spell or ritual! It’s real leather, with the inside a smooth glass, and the surface hasn’t cracked at all.
I do cursework and other baneful magick a lot, so I was wondering if there were any ideas on things that would aid in my cursework, having this be an item that would aid with just it’s presence (or some other use anyone could think of?)
Some ideas I’m having are maybe making special oils to rub into the leather for both it’s specified physical and spiritual upkeep, hanging charms off the chains, either filling it with objects and naturals that can be removed and refilled for different purposes, or maybe filled with specific things and sealed to not be opened? I love using a lot of intense/grotesque symbolism in my work and even floated the idea of filling it with simple representations of “organs” inside of the real-skin container to symbolize a human body, for maybe the purpose of a permanent universal poppet, almost. OR using it for it’s original purpose and keeping special drinks inside… I also considered housing helpful spirits inside, but I’m not sure about taking THAT kind of time and responsibility right now…
I feel like the ideas keep coming, but I can’t think of any reason to swing to either specific idea yet, and I want my possible tool to be dedicated to it’s purpose so it can get that nice patina over-time with continued work. Unless I could make it multi-purpose? If anyone has any creative ideas on how I could use it to aid cursework other than as a throwaway, I’d love to hear it
