I’ve been debating whether to focus solely on studying or to ask these questions, as they keep lingering in my mind. I’d like to address them to satisfy my curiosity. From what I’ve read, you often recommend cultivating Qi through pore breathing—visualizing universal Qi entering the lower dantian and compressing it with specific visualizations—along with practicing the microcosmic orbit. You’ve highlighted that this method is sufficient for developing psychic senses, which I understand.
While exploring Dr. Yang’s courses, I’ve come across additional techniques and terms, and I’m curious if these are part of your practice during the psychic senses development phase. To clarify,
I take your method literally—focusing on Qi cultivation and the microcosmic orbit—but I’m wondering if integrating these additional techniques could enhance the practice. Or are they already included in the process you’ve described, perhaps omitted because they’re covered in resources like The Root of Qi Gong? My curiosity stems from wanting to know if incorporating these would make the practice even more effective.
The techniques I’ve encountered include:
- Reverse Abdominal Breathing: Enhances Qi storage in the lower dantian, the body’s energy reservoir.
- Embryonic Breathing: Induces theta brainwaves for deep relaxation and stillness, and supports third-eye opening by targeting the pituitary and pineal glands.
I’ve also come across information on energy connections involving key vessels: (image)
- Conception Vessel (Yin): Connecting Baihui and Yinjiao
- Thrusting Vessel (Extreme Yin): Connecting Baihui and Huiyin
- Governing Vessel (Yang): Connecting Baihui and Mingmen
- Girdle Vessel (Extreme Yang): Connecting Yinjiao and Mingmen
- Thrusting and Governing Vessels: Connecting Huiyin and base points (Yinjiao and Mingmen).
Would adding these techniques and energy connections enhance the results, or are they already an implicit part of the process you’ve outlined?
I’m currently watching video 4 of the course, which focuses on strengthening the guarding Qi and primarily aims to enhance the immune system in alignment with nature’s seasonal fluctuations. I’m really looking forward to starting the next course, as it is entirely dedicated to the MSO. After watching that one, I might have some extra questions—let’s see. However, for now, the questions I’ve outlined above keep interrupting my focus on the current course I’m watching. My apologies for that.
