Any Books on Good-Old Christian Magick?

Look into some of the southern folk magick traditions. Ive seen a lot of the use of psalms and related biblical workings in some of the hoodoo things I’ve looked into.

Some of the more esoteric Christianity based traditions lean more towards the mystical experience of seeking than pure ceremonial magick. EA spoke of his work within the sacred order of the son of God, so the groups are out there.

That being said the deeper into the mysteries they dig the closer things get to universal lessons and truths…
Sort of like the old Chinese “many paths up the mountain, but the veiw is still the same”

Are there divination system in white magick? If so what are they?

The divination systems in white magick are the same as those in black, scrying, tarot, omens, etc.

How effective is candle divination?
Btw what system deals with Saints/ Angels at their specific Hours and day to call them for or work with specific matter

Dude, the method of divination doesn’t matter. The effectiveness is dependent on the diviner, not the tools used.

Roger that

Divination is used by both, though I personally don’t look at it as black & white.

Scrying: Is used for communicating with Angel, Demons etc.
Possibly remote viewing as well.

Tarot: is used for discerning different paths you can walk, as well as ascertaining qualities of places & people.

Omens: Are basically Auspicious event that coincide with with your practice another name for this is “synchronicity”.

Astrology: Is used for discerning the qualities of the planets their positions and influences to help make informed decisions on magical work and even day to day stuff, also known as “astrological correspondences”

Geomancy: Which is kinda like a combination of Astrology,Tarot and Runes.

All of these take time and practice to master to utilizes the full potential.

As for Angels and Saints the Arbatel of Magic is a good start.

With angels, that system is Kabbalah. As it’s Jewish magick, saints aren’t incorporated into it.

If you’re talking Christian white magick there is also the custom of opening the Bible at a random page and reading whatever your eye alights upon first as the answer. One can also use other significant books for this, of course. But someone in my family used to do this sometimes, always got useful answers.

A little late to this party.

Brother Ada aka Agostino Taumaturgo aka Jason Spadafore does an excellent job in bringing Magical Catholicism to those who are seeking this kind of Christian system. He is an ex-bishop but not of the Catholic church you can walk into any day of the week. I do not know the name of his Catholic tradition, only that he was married and a priest at the same time.

i have often thought that Christianity is a massively powerful thought form to harness for other uses…With the years of hatred, emotion and devotion built up into a system, it seems it could be beneficial to draw upon it’s power. That doesn’t mean you believe in it or practice it. You are acknowledging that there is a lot of power in the years of emotion built up in the thought form. How you would tap into it is the next step that I haven’t explored…YET.

As far as good 'ol Christian magick, the Bible is full of magick. Just look at the Psalms. It has some of the most effective curses ever!

Done!

The book of Oberon.

@CyberLord . Decent books on recent Christian Magick are hard to find.
You will find a lot of crap.

Many of the old grimoires we use today were written by “Christians.”

Pow-wow and Hoodoo have many Christian elements.
The Long Lost Friend (Pow-wow)is easily found online for free.

For Pennsylvania German Braucherei(Pow-wow), I highly recommend,
The Red Church or the Art of Pennsylvania German Braucherei by C. R. Bilardi
and Hex and Spellwork: The Magical Practices of the Pennsylvania Dutch by Karl Herr

The Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses edited by Joseph Petersen. Awesome edition and has the most legible seals of any book on the same subject.

As far as Coptic Magick, you are kind of out of luck unless you want to read
Ancient Christian Magic: Coptic Texts of Ritual Power by Marvin Meyers.
I didn’t like it. You might.

If you want Catholic Magick, go for Jason Spadafore’s books(Brother Ada/Agostino) as I recommended in an earlier reply. Excellent scholar.

You can find some of these books on Scribd and many others at Sacred-Texts dot com

The best book on Christian Magick that I have found is,wait for it,THE BIBLE!!!.
I know you’ve heard it before, but the Psalms are VERY EFFECTIVE.

Especially the Imprecatory Psalms.

Even without a bunch of trappings(specific names of God, candles and their colors, oils and herbs),they can get small jobs done in a pinch. Best Christian Cursing Around!!!

Turn the other cheek you say? Hell no!

Go look at Psalm 109 and then give someone a serious beat down.

Boy Howdy! If you want Christian magick, you’re in luck. Though, that depends on how you define “Christian Magick”.

I’d recommend this book as a starter. Amazon.com: Secrets of the Magickal Grimoires: The Classical Texts of Magick Deciphered: 9780738703039: Leitch, Aaron: Books

Keep in mind that you can still call on angels to hurt people. So, is the magick Christian? Yes. you are calling on Christ. Is it “good old”? Well it’s old.

Everything from St Cyprian of Antioch ( cyprianic magic or sorcery ) will teach important knowledge about christian magical system. Jason Miller has a great course about this subject and how to use the magical church current. Otherwise there is plenty of book about cyprianic current.
.
Church itself is full of magical secret and most of people interested into christian magic dont study them. For example the rite of the holy mass can be considered as a great ritual of theurgy ( need to understand it fully ) so you can use it ! How ? If you understand the inner structure of the mass rite you can go to sunday mass and use the power to manifest or empower your talisman/amulet, to manifest anything, heal or even raise consciousness to higher state (these are just example )! Another example is the rosary who can be used as a magical tool to ascent ( the passion of christ is itself the potential power for ascent into this context and the rosary is the key to activate this power, to generate tremendous energy from the passion of christ ).

If it sounds interesting you could look into the christian-mysticism and christian-esotericism corner.
It’s quite the rabbit hole, though, and might require some knowledge of German or Latin languages if you go really deep. If you find decent sources in English the magick part is kinda veiled as well. Most of it is based in alchemy, hermeticism and kabbalah.
