Azrael is a angelic force of death, in mythology he doesn’t actually bring death he instead departs the soul after death.
Azrael isn’t really a fearful being, if you want to work with him go for it he’s a necromantic usher almost but if you want to wield the powers of Death totally then look into ‘The Reaper’.
He is the personification of death and will call the gods of death to your side.

I’m familiar with his identify from Islamic Sources. But I barely know anything because they have not much to say about him except that he comes to take the soul of the dead.

I believe the angel of death is feminine as well . Santa muerte. Is this the same as azrael ?? I have an altar for santa muerte . She is so loving . She is a protective mother . What do you think of all the different names /personas of the Death Angels ? Are they the same ??

I saw “the Grim Reaper” during my NDE. I searched for info on “him” for years & was thinking it was Azrael. But I discovered it was Santa Muerte. I don’t think they are the same being, but I don’t know for sure. I’m not sure how all the different death deities fit together. One night, Santa Muerte brought San La Muerte to visit with me. Idk if different deities that have the same focus are just different aspects of the same force or if they are different entities or what. They appear to be separate, but Idk for sure. I guess that didn’t help too much, huh?

I think that you are overcomplicating this. You work with whatever information that is available to you to prepare and use whatever evokation method that you usually use.

That is why it is recommended that one begin with the more well known entities. To develope their own system that they know work for them so that when they encounter an entity which is less well know, the gaps.in the info are mediated by the strength of the magician’s system.
