Some people claim that genuine bokors rarely live outside of Haiti and must be of Haitian lineage. What do you think?
As you may know, there is a difference between bokors and houngans.
Seeing as most Bokors are of a small branch of Haitian Vodou (often from Makaya) then yeah, most are going to be from Haiti. Or Florida, there’s a few legit ones there. There may be others in the US, but it’s not really a mainstream thing in the US, it’s not mainstream in Haiti either, so the odds are even less here.
