How does one contact the nine muses through evocation or invocation.

By calling them of course, the same as any spirit.

What would I offer to them? Is there a specific incense? Or is it more of an old school art where prayer and a simple offering with a statue on an altar?
The Greek Muses i want to connect with Euterpe the muse of music and poetry.
I havenāt worked with any of the Muses but from my experience working with other spirits, I would start with associations. For example, a Muse of poetry might appreciate it if she is retrieved a poem for an offering. The Muses are the embodiment of creativity, so you might get a better result if you create your offering from scratch, since you would put creative energies into it.

Apollo taught the Muses, so anything associated to him might be helpful when attempting to contact a Muse, especially given that he is a god of music, poetry and art (and therefore creativity). He is also the god of knowledge, so if you want to contact the Muse of astronomy at some point, Apolloās associations would still be helpful.

Well i prefer as much old school as i can if iām going to begin working a new system in its entirety, within reason of course, i have found that doing this is very much like an invocation in itself, in that as i take as much of that culture, that time, current into myself as i can, it makes the contact with the spirits in the current so much more deeper, more powerful and a lot more personal.
Now if you want to bypass that and start working with Euterpe right away, try using this (candles/incense optional).

Ask her for a sigil, draw it (i donāt know what your skill is seeing/hearing spirits) and trust yourself that whatever you get is her sigil and just start working with her like any other spirit, it really is that easy.
