I see that folks like Archan and a few Golden Dawn magickians assign the 72 angels as belonging to or being subordinate to the Archangels of the Zodiac.
Then I see a chart in Wikipedia that says Ambelain assigns them to the Archangels of the Sephirot but I looked at another excerpt from his Practical Kabbalah and he assigns them to Zodiac archangels. So I assume this is just a mistake.
Is it fair to say that whatever angel of the Shem HaMaphoresh you decide to use, he is likely going to perform some function that would serve the archangel above him.
For instance, an angel that is in Aries is probably not going to be able to help you write a book but he probably would be a big help with helping you beat the hell out of your obnoxious neighbor.
