Checking My Score

There have been some threads lately where people were prognosticating doom of all sorts from all directions.
I just happened to come across this–one of the very first threads I ever started on this forum. For those who don’t remember, 2012 was the year when we were going to get the second financial collapse that the 2008 one was a prelude to, World War Three was, no question, going to start by March 2013 at the latest. The dollar was going to evaporate overnight. Martial law was going to be instated and people were going to be stuck in prison camps. The sun was going to hit us with a super-spot and send us back to the stone age. The poles were going to shift and send us back to an ice age. And there was a LOT more I can’t remember anymore.

I was just finding my feet in those days with magic, and only starting to do well with divination.

Here’s what I see now:

The economic crisis in 2012 was completely fake, which is to say stage-managed and grossly exaggerated. They were actually worried about how much better the economy was getting and the speed it was moving at, this despite their best efforts to slow it down. For example, there were tons of nobodies from my generation who were becoming millionaires after being in poverty in one to three years by starting their own businesses on-line and elsewhere. Life is SUPPOSED to look like you either join The Great Big Club or eat dirt for dinner, but freelancers and entrepreneurs are quietly taking over the world. They’re worried about their continued ability to coerce the upcoming generation into serving corporate business and educational systems that largely no longer serve their employees’ or customers’ best interests.

I see a LOT more of this entrepreneurial spirit moving forward. I see individuals largely making their own economy that isn’t this speculative, ghostly super-economy. I see the economy becoming something that’s happening in your home and on your street, not a conversation amongst giants in a newspaper column.

I do NOT see any fake or real tragedies around Trump. (Remember how they ominously set up Clinton getting sick and then it didn’t go anywhere?) His role appears to have been to massively discredit and probably disenfranchise the Americans who believed in him. Now that we know their online news sources are “Russian propaganda,” they’ll be eight-balled to the nether-regions of Internet trolldom, and even the parts of their complaints and observations that were legitimate will be side-lined from public discourse. There’s some big change that’s coming that those people would have gotten in the way of. It’s not Socialism. It’s some kind of “New Deal” echo. I don’t think it’s a minimum income but it’s something like that. I’m in the ballpark there. (Yeah, even I was thinking, “Putting Trump in and faking an assassination or scandal would be the only way to get Dubya-era Ultra-Fascists back in power that the public would barely tolerate.” But I think it’s just scaremongering. I think we’re nearly finished with the fake Christians. They’ve done their duty.)

Somebody remind me to check the scorecard in 2022!
