What do you truthfully think of E.A. Koetting?

ugh, feel like a kid saying that, but i have to be honest!

I remember when I first watched his videos as a RHP practitioner, and thinking "Holy shit I wanna do that!"

I love his marketing, it builds hype for the fact that we’re doing important, powerful, and amazing work to uplift humanity into the realm of myths and legends, able to do impossible things that no one else until now has even dreamed of being able to do.

Becoming the force which moves reality.

When I first saw his video and read his first book a copy of which I found online I saw a totally new side of magical unlike the herbs and Wicca type.Up until then only hoodoo had made sense to me.

A fortnight later I was in dire straits ( two years ago), business was bad and somehow my witch powers which were supposed to progress were just at a stand still.

Then I saw myself in a dream where there was a glass bookshelf and all of Koettings books were lying.Knowing how difficult it is to get a copy of them I rushed and started putting them in my bag looking around so no one could see me.Then I heard a chuckle and turned around. It was a somewhat 20 year old version of Koetting standing there. He said that’s fine I put them there for you, you can take them.I was very red in the face and said you know I am doing financially unwell and I needed help.He said stop making excuses like I said you can read them.

The next day I literally started finding parts of his works everywhere in forums and discussions and later I bought some too.

So the person is real and he is magical enough to travel inside your subconscious and help you.

What other proof do we want of his competence ?

He’s honestly been my biggest inspiration for working in the Occult, the things I’ve learned from his content is priceless! His power is real, and as I go on the path deeper and deeper what he says holds more and more truth for me, it’s insane because I experience things both in and out of ritual, then within a few days, weeks, or months he posts a video saying similar things to what Infernal Gods have explained to me, and my experiences out of body! I agree that his books and courses are pretty costly, but that doesn’t negate the fact that he has some insane power, and his methods are cast iron! The people who doubt his power are usually either armchair occultists, RHP mystics, or not real practicioners of the Occult. I would be doing you a major disservice if I didn’t tell you that he knows what’s up!

When I heard that Christian churches are calling him the anti-christ I wanted to celebrate by getting high. E.A Koetting is the shit. He touches on so much for free, and since I started watching him and getting into BALG, I have found so much value in what he reveals and how he does what he does…If I had the money I would certainly buy his teachings. From my own experience, he is about it, and I havn’t even paid for anything yet.

He is a living meme that takes shit too seriously.

He knows his stuff, and he has an easy-to-listen-to voice, but he comes across as top-tier edgy and the prices on the things he sells are really high.

I respect his ability, but I can’t respect his public face very much.

i honestly like the guy, though i think he should entirely drop his persona that he uses in his sales pitches…

i love his personality that shows through when he for example teaches in seminars; cool, human, down-to-earth, no edge, no bullshit…

but i get that the sales persona probably draws in a good deal of business, so i wont fault him for that, however cringey i may find it lol

(also, i kinda side-eye the prices he charges, but uhhhh meh he can charge w/e tf he wants, it’s his business)

First and foremost, I see him as a showman, and businessman. Beyond that, not really sure how much of him, I buy in to, I’d need to actually talk to him to make that assessment.

Well really like the guy and the materials provided from BALG.
Only been a member for less then a year, going to college money is allways an issue and i can agree that compared to other books and classes this seems high but as so often you get what you pay for.
I have gotten many books from the site and courses and will carry on. I see it as an investment in my personal evolution, and the money i put in i have worked hard to get so the information i buy i value more then a book i can buy for 10 bucks.

For the salespitch in the videos thats like 30 sec of commercials in the vid tops, i would get more If i were to watch tv for the same length of time as the videos EA puts out, and its hes livelihood he needs to promote that.

Cant say enough good things.

Would love to just sit and chat with him, showman aside… just to know the real guy.

I have mad respect for EA. I managed to get a copy of Works of Darkness through IAXXAR before BALG even existed and it just blew me away. I could feel real power in it. Up until then I had been delving into the waters of Chaos Magick but had gotten to the saturation point where the authors just talked about the same stuff over and over again, with nothing new brought to the table. WoD changed everything for me.

I have never seen him as trying to be “edgy” but EA’s marketing can seem over the top sometimes. It is nothing compared to that of the Law of Attraction crowd though. Thanks to the success of Rhonda Byrne’s The Secret, anyone who wants to make a buck tries to slap together a book and course to tell you that “yes, you too can live your destiny of greatness. All you have to do is follow our simple 5 step (or 7 step, or 10 step) process and you too can be living the life of your dreams!”

As for the prices of his materials, they are cheap compared to a lot of the LoA stuff. Some PDFs are $50 and courses are listed in the $500-$800 US range, and that is for a couple of CD’s or DVD’s and a booklet, purporting to contain some “mystical secret lost down the ages but only recently rediscovered.” I doubt they take anywhere near the amount of time and effort to produce that EA puts into his (and when was the last time EA bragged about his latest luxury sports car?)

EA takes you step by step through the processes in his courses. He doesn’t just describe the rituals, he does them for you on the video. As anyone who has done evocation knows, that can be pretty damn intense. And he does it over and over again. I think they are well worth the price for the amount of information you get from them, and the effort and time put in.

Everybody these days wants something for free or at minimal cost but anything worth having, anything with value, takes work and sacrifice. Humans have more respect for something they have to pay a chunk of money for, than they do for something that is given to them for free or for pennies. And sorcerers have never worked for free.

Marketing aside, people should understand that EA is not a guru; he is not some perfected being. He is a human being like the rest of us, and subject to the same foibles we are. He has had his drug issues, he has had failed marriages, he has had loves that didn’t work out, he has been unemployed, and he has been homeless. Listening to his guest shots on various podcasts and his YouTube videos, he seems pretty down to earth and well grounded compared to some of the people that visit this forum.

Yes, he is a showman, but that is no different than the stage persona used by actors, or the pen names used by authors. It’s all part of the game.

I get a good impression of the guy. Personally, I feel his personal path has forced a great amount of self imposed transmutation which is the great goal of spiritual alchemy. I became interested in him when I stumbled on his a santeria initiate confronts ea koetting, I watched it, to be honest as an Olorisha and Palero it didn’t 100% sit comfortable with me, however I still feel it is better for me to reserve my judgment and keep an open mind, after all as a kid I did my own Hoodoo rootworks that incorporated the Loa, which is not all that uncommon its just an entirely different approach, and different technologies get different results. I did infact contact and maintain a spiritual relationship with many of the major Loa from the Guede family, to Lemba and Petro nacions but thats a personal thing for me, its part of my path that Led me to my Eggun, my Orishas, my Nkisi, my Bakulu. All separate traditions that I love equally and practice with 100% devotion with efficacy from the heart. Without my rootwork I would have never been blessed for the axiomatic crux as little child of putting dirt and bones in bottles and giving them names, it was as relevant to who I was as a five year old and is even more relevant to who I am now.
Until I read Spider and the Green Butterfly I will continue to reserve my judgement. I know he is a skilled practitioner with 100% heart, It’s just some things I noticed in the video that has me questioning some things.

I’ve been following Koetting since KoF first came out. Even joined OAA for a while though it ultimately wasn’t my path. I really like his writing style and he obviously knows his stuff. Maybe 20 % of what I currently use comes from his books with a little bit more from newsletters and videos. He seems like a overall good guy and a skilled sorcerer, though the current marketing style of his stuff is not really my cup of tea.

I was initially put off by his brand of marketing, admittedly. It smacked of a charlatan. But then, I actually read some of his stuff and quickly realized that the dude was The Real Deal. No way he could write about things, with the understanding demonstrated, without having true enlightenment.

I think a lot of people miss all of the bits where he stresses Balance, light and dark, and so on. And where he talks about his physical journey, including yoga and mastery of his Qi and so forth. That, or folks plum don’t read them book-words cuz readin’ is hard…

But yeah, he is on the level for sure.

Edit: Also, there is abso-fucking-lutely nothing wrong with taking the thing you love, and live, and turning it into a career. Find a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life, as the saying goes.

NOOOOOOO!!!

You just ruined my whole E.A Koetting Utopia. He was my Gury, my perfect idolatry. He was my wallpaper of flowers in my bedroom. Don’t tell me he’s a “human like the rest of us”. That makes me so sad and moist in my blue glisten eyes. “Foible”? Pffft…there’s no weakness in him. He eats that for breakfast and fart rainbows and sunshine.

On a serious note…

…you’re right, my friend. I might not agree with everything E.A says, but his mindset is inspiring. There’s a lot of wisdom there.

His work is massively overpriced and sensationalised. His work is competent, though it’s nothing an experienced practitioner couldn’t quickly discover by themselves. Then again, I doubt they’d need to, as his work is very clearly geared towards people who are just starting out.
With that out the way, I feel his work is okay and would certainly be useful for a newbie. Shame it’s so exorbitantly priced. Anyone with a degree of talent would be better off working on their own and using the forum and spirits to answer any questions. If you feel you require more structure though, he’s worth a look.

I can’t say for certain. Sometime he says things I like. Sometimes he says things I don’t like. His books are expensive, but that’s my biggest complaint. My opinion of him is neither here no there.
