They never did.
The more importend question, is how you found it / been guided to it.
Because that haves to do, with wether you’re being greated friendly.

Look at children.
When they want something, when they do something,
and how they act towards their parents.
Not how the parents act to them, look at how the children act towards the parents.
Most generic traits are there.
Humans don’t like being responsible,
and so they give the responsibility to their “parents” - e.g. God.
Self-Souvergnty usually comes from a completely different kind of behavior and menatlity.
And those people, you see mostly around communities like ours,
rather then in default reality random situations.

Well I have had some odd visions of a strong, elder vampire, hanging around me after I pass from this world. Eh fuck it, it cant hurt to try since it’s on sale now 
If it’s a scam I’m barely spending any money, if it’s legit I get a new temperamental friend/mentor out of it.

Hahaha he doesnt plan on killing me, as long as I dont betray him. As long as the infernal nation doesn’t go to war with him, I think we’re good.
He is rather blunt and scary as fuck when pissed, his wife is way worse 
terrifying.
