Lol I lived to the downriver area (just south of Detroit) when I was 10 to 18, in Lansing from 18-25, and now live in the grand rapids area. Honestly, flint is way worse than detriot. I actually had some of the worst of those experience in the lansing area, mainly the shootings, the almost fall, the semi truck, the frozen river, the drunken tree climb and the shower jumping.

The worst from the Detroit area was a car crash into the Detroit river, but that was at grosse isle

1095 and 15N20 carbon steel. It’s not the worst steel tbh. I’m sure there are better steels too, but not for under $50.

For an inexpensive knife, that is not bad at all. A little oil can help with the rusting but you should be good either way.

My ring on my thumb? Lab-grown turquoise apparently. It’s nice and how I consecrated it serves me well.

It came covered in machine oil, and I sharpened it using lemon oil on my stone (because that is what I had, and it works well enough). It’s not shaving sharp, but it will pass the paper test easily.
