Description: Eight wands all decorated with string fly through the air in unison with Sagittarius, the wanderer, in the background.

Meaning: 8 of Wands means full steam ahead to attain your goals. The skies are opening up for your swift undertaking of you goal. This card can also mean travel, especially travel by air.

Reversed Meaning: 8 of Wands Reversed, the skies are darkening as the wands plummet to the earth. The goal appears momentarily only for the path toward it to fall apart. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.

Astrological Association: Mercury in Sagittarius (The Magician/Temperance)

Gifts: Excitement, variety.

9 of Wands (Great Strength):

Description: We see a bare chested, sandaled warrior holding a wand with a violet crystal while eight other wands with white crystals sand in a line next to him.

Meaning: 9 of Wands means leadership, it’s time for you to recognize that there are many who look up to you, and so you should rise to the occasion.

Reversed Meaning: 9 of Wands Reversed, the eight other wands fall away. The meaning is scattering, you have betrayed those who looked up to you and let their hopes fall.

Description: We see a man buckled under the weight of ten wands tied into the shape of an upward pointing triangle, a symbol of fire.

Meaning: 10 of Wands means that you are overburdened and in need of help.

Reversed Meaning: 10 of Wands Reversed, the wands now fall off his back. Meaning, you are no longer overburdened, you have learned to delegate the weight so that everyone can help to bear the burden.

Knight of Wands:

Description: We see a knights helmet colored gold and red, with two black horns and a red plume. There is also a small skull charm attached by a chain. Upon the helmet is an image of two dragons fighting and in the background, we see two dragons fighting and scorching the land in their battle.

Meaning: The Knight of Wands has left his quest for fame and glory and he has the positive aspects of someone seeking such a goal: he possesses extreme vital energy, he is passionate, strong, and noble. He has attained an incredible power but is still immature in his use of this power (symbolized by the fighting dragons), he is capable of victory, but he is careless in the amount of collateral damage he accumulates.

Reversed Meaning: The Knight of Wands Reversed has left his quest for fame and glory and he has all the negative aspects of someone seeking such a goal: he is egotistic and self-serving, he is easily bored and shuns commitment. However, he still possesses the great power and strength in the reversed position.

Description: We see a mature woman with her hair in a pair of buns jeweled with gold chain and rubies, with the rest in braids flowing down. She has a golden headband with red accents and she has a flowing red dress. Her face is painted with passionate, red flames.

Meaning: The Queen of Wands means a strong feminine leader, out of her intuition and contemplation, this woman rules those around her. And she possesses the positive traits of such: she’s commandeering, capable, self-governing authority. It can be a mother or another strong female authority.

Reversed Meaning: The Queen of Wands Reversed still means a strong feminine leader, but she possesses the negative traits of such: she’s bitter, domineering, high strung, and judgmental.

Astrological Association: Last third of Pisces, through the first two-thirds of Aries. (Moon/Emperor)

Elemental Association: Water of fire. The Queen of Wands is the watery part of fire. Water and fire share no qualities, are unfriendly, and weaken each other. The world is not always ready for a proud, dominant woman. The combination is called steady force, where the emotions transform the will.

King of Wands:

Description: We see a male figure with long, black hair and wearing red robes with purple and gold accents. He holds in his hand a wand with a luminous tip and he stands before an altar with a flame burning upon it. To his back are two black banners with dragons on them.

Meaning: The King of Wands is a man who has a passion for his ideals and possesses the drive to attain them and he has all the positive characteristics of such a man: he has an entrepreneur spirit, he is self made, self-assertive, daring, energetic, and motivated.

Reversed Meaning: The King of Wands Reversed is a man who has a passion for his ideals and possesses the drive to attain them, but he has all the negative characteristics of such a man: he is driven by desire, impulsive, selfish, a daredevil, and a power hungry man.

Meaning: 2 of Cups means a deep love between spouses, it could also be an intense love between friends or family.

Reversed Meaning: 2 of Cups Reversed, the water in the cups falls out. This is about a loveless marriage, a family who are only together because they’re related, friends who are only friends because of childhood memories. The emotion is gone, but they’re still inseparably connected.

Description: A man clothed in a white and brown garb sits beneath a three with three cups at his feet. But, he is focused only on an ethereal cup that is floating in front of him.

Meaning: 4 of Cups means that you’re bored with the life you have, you’ve taken for granted the things that have served you so well, perhaps too well, and now the temptation comes for that next new thing. But, this new cup, like the next new thing, is not a reality, it’s an illusion.

Reversed Meaning: 4 of Cups Reversed, the man falls and is able now to reach the ethereal cup. The meaning is that you have a renewed vigor and energy as you are able to make your dreams come true and sieze the opportunity to reach your goals.

Description: We see a distressed woman clinging tightly two two whole cups while three cups lie in shattered pieces at her feet.

Description: A bounty of fruit is placed upon a table with nine cups.

Meaning: 9 of Cups is the wish card. Bounty, abundance, fertility, and successes are all meanings associated with this card. All doors are open for you to attain what you wish for.

Reversed Meaning: 9 of Cups Reversed, all the fruit falls off the table. The meaning is that your wish is delayed in coming. This is lack, infertility, and failure. All the doors have shut in front of you.
