So… are we gonna request Ford for the Interview With a Magus series? :-()
Only if EAK proofreads and checks Ford’s spellings. Shit, Ford’s style sometimes makes me feel AE Waite wrote lucid prose…at least his spellings were correct.
I'm sorry, but misspellings and bad grammar and style IN A PUBLISHED WORK are just HORRIBLE lesser Magick, IMHO.
Interesting how you’re bitching that he accidentally misspells words while you post the same lame comment 3 times in a row.
Yes, obviously spelling and grammar errors are stupid, but ultimately if they stop you from appreciating the quality of the ideas in a published work, then you’re a fool.
(For the record, I’m not supporting his work, I’m just destroying the red herring fallacy of spelling mistakes)
I found some of the information useful in a couple of his books but if I didn’t already own EA’s books prior to Ford’s his work would have been useless.
Grammar isn’t an issue for me when it comes to Ford’s work. It’s the cut and paste fashion that his work is presented in that get’s me. He cuts and pastes a lot of information from Abramelin and changes it a little in order to give his belief system more validity. I’ve noticed this with Abramelin and I’m sure he does it with other material.
Either way, you should try and get Koetting’s work either on becomealivinggod.com or by other means like ebay. As far as I know Evoking Eternity is still at an affordable price and you should purchase it because that book gave me a great understanding of evocation and a solid foundation to work from as a LHP magician.

Honestly I’d advise anyone who wants E.A.'s books to wait and buy them from him to
A) Pay the author for his work
B) Help him further BALG
If you have to have an Ixaxxar edition (I’d avoid Leilah edition because of errors and just to say fuck them) I would still wait until the e books are available. Once the content of the books can be had readily the price will drop further than it is now.
I’m reading Adversarial Light, and Dragon of the Twin Flames at the moment. Sure there are aspects of his writing style that I could use less of, but for the historical context of these Sumerian, Canaanite and Hewbrew spirits these books are awesome. Also I could care less about grammar and spelling mistakes, content and new ideas trump grammatical perfection every time. That’s why authors hire editors.
Also to compare Ford to EA is nonsense. Both men have made excellent contributions to my personal occult knowlede. Ford is taking care of the history and philosophy of the Adversarial current, while EA has created the most practical and badass approach to modern sorcery! If I had to pick one it would be EA, but fortunately I don’t have to do that.
Sounds like a good read. I’ll definately buy some of his books, but only after I work through this evocation course… don’t want to be distracted with good theory/history when I should be focusing on the practical first.
[quote=“Zecharyah 555, post:28, topic:702”]Yeah he’s a fucking good author!

I read almost all of his works. Looks like he really does a lot of background research before publishing a book. His main goal is to initiate the practitioner in the Luciferian Current. I almost read 80% of his books. Adversarial Light, Dragon of two flames and Grand Grimorie of infernal pacts are my favorite.
I get inspired to research on my own when I read his books.
I enjoy going back to Micheal Ford’s work from the theoretical perspective they offer on differing nature of dark magick. I find E.A offers sorcerers practical applications in a no-nonsense approach and challenges them to test all theories for themselevs . I believe both men have made solid contributions in the advancement of the Black arts, that cannot, and should not be denied.
Being an author of some writings myself, when I have the time and inspiration, no one is harder on me for grammatical errors and spelling mistakes then myself, after a submission when I catch it. But its all part of the process of adding to the knowledge library of occult works.
If there’s an error you find you make a lot, and you use a program like MS Word that has some kind of auto-correct, you can get it to reformat the trouble-word with XXX on each side whenever it’s typed, even in bold and coloured text, which will make it leap out at you when you proof-read.
Spellcheck won’t catch everything, but if you know your tendencies (such as typing homophones which spellcheck often misses) you can get it to flag your danger-words for closer attention.
Also, proof-read backwards, so you’re reading words in a way that requires attention and that doesn’t lull your internal voice into correcting the mistakes - an example of how the voice trips us up is when we get all the letters in (common in rapid typing) but they fall in the wrong order:
“Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe… This is because the human mind does not read every letter by itself by the word as a whole.”
Although spellcheck will catch most of these, if you’re typing things you’ve not added to the dictionary, like obscure occult terminology or spirit names, you’re more likely to slip up, so 1. use dictionary to add words you use a lot, that aren’t in there already, 2 read backwards, and 3. format the program to flag potential errors for extra attention.
Skitt’s Law says there will be typoes I will miss here in this very post, since the Typo God is not easily denied His sacrifice! :o)
And apologies if it’s a tad off-topic but it hardly requires its own thread, and I know MWF does get a lot of stick for this, so hopefully people wishing to avoid that may find it useful.
The Book Of Witch Moon, Dragon Of The Two Flames, Maskim Hul & Sebitti, i found quite helpful especially the last 3 which deal with Mesopotamian and nearby magick.
I have noticed his books centers around like psychology and things of that nature, and there’s nothing really practical about it, but they could be useful when it comes to working with the mind and unlocking abilities because think about it there’s a vast reserve of our brains. we don’t always access, so when you do into the subconscious , our beliefs and habits, and our view of reality comes from the subconscious , which is conditioned from childhood and the like or being brainwashed. So I take what I can use and ignore other stuff and just create my own thing. I like to use the more psychological part and conjunction with a material or carnal aim.
My only issue with Michael W Ford he is always frequently saying this path is dangerous. The demons are dangerous and he does say that the term evil or whatever was given to these demons by those on the right hand path or coming from judeo Christianity. I am not sure how they can be so dangerous but my guess is if your intention is to use magic, which is causing change and accordance with your will and subconscience and unconscious would have to be involved where the “demons” reside. Meaning God and demons or whatever depending on the person it can either be harmful or beneficial that’s why you have to get your shit together and take care of yourself and have a strong will in order for this change that you want to using your damn brain so anyway it kind of makes sense when he frequently says the practitioner is a temple of the adversary.
My favorite books:
Goetia of Shadows
Bible of the Adversary
Luciferian Apotheosis
Demons of Solomon
Dragon of 2 flames
Magick of Hvhy
Drauga
Luciferian Sex Magick
Grimoires are recipe books created by Magickal. Practitioners on what worked for them. I’ve seen the author say use instinct and intuition.
