PS: If you are a complete beginner, then my advice is to seek out an established working method, like that in the books Demons of Magick by Gordon Winterfield, or Goetia Pathworking by Corwin Hargrove.

Are there potential risks?
To be affected by an entity, to be exposed to a spirit claiming to be the desired demon, or simply to be harmed

There are always risks in magick. However, those books I mentioned provide methods that are relatively safe.

You really should be safe! The books call upon protection from the archangels. the demons are restrained by them too. Don’t be afraid going into the magick
