On Nephilim, Cambions, Demigods etc

Spirits are said to be incorporeal, and should not be able to breed with humans. Yet, there are so many stories about people being half-god or half-angel/demon/whatever. What do you guys think? Is such a thing really possible? Were individuals like Herakles or Merlin really children of non-humans, or are such things embellished or taken too literally? A (unverified) personal gnosis of mine is that it is possible, but very rare; spirits need a human body to use, otherwise the possibility of havi…
