You can strike the side with a mallet and then trace around the lip of the Tibetan singing bowl to make a ringing vibration that grows in strength depending on how much force is used and how quickly the mallet is turned around the lip.
This is actually chi energy being built by the vibrations inside the bowl.
I use this during the enns chant to give the spirit energy with which to manifest for me.
I use it in the beginning as a banisher around my circle and at the end after license to depart is given.

I only use the bell to open and close ritual. I do use demonic enns to guard the elemental balancing circle I create.
