Would you call wescott or Mathers a witch? No you wouldn’t.
True. Very few witches really have authentic juice, and was brought about by labor of blood, sweat and tears. They put the work in, many riding in the coattails.
Well, probably not, even though they did use it. Builders of the Adytum uses witchcraft in the initiation.
I think for me being a witch is something I would want to normalize true witchcraft and magick so I don’t have to hide in the closet. Though thankfully I don’t have to worry the Christians around me trying to burn me at the stakes now if they were to find out. I just might be kicked out of my family.
But magick and witchcraft are things all humans are capable of doing. Some might have more of a gifting toward those things but I realize magick something I can do because I’m human not because I’m special. So I wouldn’t want to honor those who practice witchcraft over those who don’t because magick is something that’s been stripped away from us as humans due to church (in the west at least).
This is just my opinion though.
I guess it depends on your definition of honored. There are many who were sought out because of their power. The witch of Endore helped King Saul. Shakespeare depicts witches as powerful considering the three Wayward Sisters took down Macbeth. In more recent history, there is Marie Laveau. As for male sorcerers, we have the beloved St. Cyprian.
Actully witches didn’t work much with either angels or demons but rather with nature spirits and diffrent enteties.
The term has been kidnapped by wiccans wich is what people today percive as witches.
And I just realised I had forgotten about Nephilimic witchcraft wich works with the fallen angels, still not demons though.
That would be honoring everyone, since we’re all capable. Which would make it mundane and not really worth much at all.
I would disagree because claimed status and labels don’t mean anything.
Results are what matter.
And if they are getting results, they are on thier way to getting whatever honor they want, and they don’t need other people to tell them what they should or should not have.
Just because someone is a witch, it doesn’t mean they’re worthy of praise. Even witches can be some of the scummiest and worthless people on Earth.
So no, witches don’t need to be honored more. I find that to be absolutely ridiculous.
