Lady Eva,I was taught how to it was done in a Mexican spiritualist church. I use a bundle of plants to dust them before hand, then I use my hands. But I thoroughly soak my hands in a holy water formula from that church which includes Florida water, flowers (these are placed on the hands on the person being worked on to prevent evil from entering), water, but no frankincense.
However, that’s actually not a bad idea. I want to do the limpias with St Michael now so I could use an oil I made for him. I used to do it with Jezebel but she’s not the best for this kind of work.
