My experience wasn’t a whole lot, I tried to evoke him to kill my grandfather, but it wasn’t successful. He appeared before me in the form of a super buff man with black wings, black pants, two metal pauldrons, but no shirt.
From the lore about him, he is supposed to be the angel that had slain all the firstborn sons of Egypt. His name means “Venom of God”.

There is this controversy: Some say he rules fifth heaven, above. Others say he rules the one below.
Many said he is a demon, a fallen angel. Others said, no, though he did disobeyed, but wasn’t cast down.
What’s your view of him?
With these appearance it’s clear who he is and where he falls. Or what do you think?

I’m certain that he didn’t fall, his energy was still angelic. And he can rule the 5th hell and still be an unfallen angel. It’s not impossible.

Samael is controversial angel.
But maybe cabbala would help- Samael is the ruler of Gebura
(you can find that Kamael is ruler of this sefira too) - sefira on tree of life, and force of this sefira is to destroy- destroy things that are no longer needed, or to destroy old thing to make room for new. And this is generally not pleasant.
And this sefira is Gate to Olam ha Klipoth- tree od death, where all things destroyed by force of Gebura remain.

I have heard that the name Samael and Kamael (Khamael) are the same, and not different entities. That the spelling was a mistake of some culture.
Yeah, I saw he is the ruler of Geburah. He is Martian.

to my understanding, samael is both angel and demon, khamael and sam r the same for the differing spells of hebrew translations. samael governs the geburah sphere(mars/dexku) but on the tree of death (whixh is a more powerful way to xonnext to ur innerself) hes forfront of the sphere of merxury(the poisonous ones) with the great Adramelexh governing.
On a pathworking note, hes great for first timers learning blaxk magix or the ways of both trees. So far theres an energy xyphen when first xontaxt is made as with all ranking entities, but he taught me to take the energy baxk and to not let other lower entites feed on emotions or thought forms. “The venom of god” is a referenxe of mans will, but also the greed of mans will. kno that do what thou wilt is the law of the aeon. kno more that the greed of ones will xan make him fall. its a balanxe xuz the next sphere on the tree of death would be Qayins domain or of the ravenous ones. this being the sphere where self xontrol is needed.
