If I were to draw a sigil and use it to contact a spirit, once I am done, what do I do with it?
Burn? Drop it away? Tear it apart and throw it away?
You could keep it, as you may want to contact the spirit again. Sigils become more powerful the more you use them, so reusing the same sigil is often a good idea.
Alternatively you could perform a brief ritual in which you thank the spirit and burn the sigil ( this is mostly just ceremony for the sake of ceremony. I just feel it’s a tad more respectful to dedicate a ritual to getting rid of it ). If you can’t be arsed with that, just focus on having finished with the sigil and bin it.
I wouldn’t recommend binning it. It sounds offensive.
Instead bury it.
I burn the seal after I receive my result, with a prayer of thanks.
If I called the spirit for knowledge, then I usually keep it around, tucked into my journal.
If the spirit is one you regularly call upon, I recommend making a permanent seal by engraving or painting it on wood, metal or tile.
It all depends on intent. If the person drains the sigil and the working is complete, then the sigil holds no meaning for the user, then binning it is no different to binning scrap paper
I always burn sigils!
I suggest you burn the sigil, that way it’s locked into your subconscience mind
I personally don’t burn the sigil. I add lines and designs to it such that it doesn’t represent the spirit in question anymore, and then bury it if I can. That being said, it’s honestly just a personal preference, and if you’re concerned about it you can simply ask the spirit and they’ll likely tell you if they care.
