I made one before and it backed fire on me really bad
I then realized that I am supposed to burry it near a crossroad
or put it in a river. I don’t have a river near by but there is a pond
will that work ?

As long as the water has a flow. If it is water that is at a standstill, there’s no current or vibrational influence.
