I just found to perfect, a piece of tree, to turn into my first staff. I mean it’s gonna take a while to get it perfect… Anyone got any tips for me?
Maybe even for if I consider getting a wand or staff. Would really be appreciated.
I mean I don’t know much about these tools, but I doubt there only just for ritual.
Ask the tree. In EA Koetting’s OAA, for example, in order to find your fire staff, you let your intuition guide you and when you find it, you will know.

What does its energy feel like?
That’s the thing it isn’t fresh. I mean I have focused my own energy on it but I left it at that spot for weeks until I finally realize it was meant for me! But I suppost I can try to see if I feel somethinging from the stick.
How large is it? It’s size can help to decide whether it could be a wand or staff. My blasting rod is about a foot long, for example.
Oh trust me! I’m a Gandalf fan! I wouldn’t get it if it wasn’t the perfect staff for me! I’m actually trying to sand of the fungus in the surface right now! Yeah I know I waited to long to bring it home!
The fungus makes the surface darker, which could be an advantage if you carve symbols into it (runes, alchemical symbols etc) as the lighter wood underneath would stand out. A Dremel tool is great for rapid carving, but a whittling knife is cheaper.
If you search the internet for commercial staves, or for artisan ones on etsy and such, the images and descriptions could fuel your imagination.
Fungus is good? I was just gonna burn symbols. But I suppost I could study more though.
I’m a fan lol. It really depends on you associations and how it affects your mindset.
I love the look of lichen on a staff, if that’s what you mean - regular fungi would be easier to brush off, but might leave a darkened stain you can work into the patterns.

Say my staff has some cracks on it. It’s won’t be bad to just fill them right?

It’s just I tried carving before. And I accidentally got a crack bigger. Thanks for the reassurance
Say I’m not sure whether to use a clear quartz or Smokey quartz crystal for the head.

maybe I could do rituals with the staff(once it’s finish) that would fill it with massive amounts of energies, and I could find a way how to seal those energies inside, and whenever I use or practice with it, it could help me strengthen and rise my power over time, while with it I can make incredible results.
I think dr Thor Templar mentioned something like this multiple times?
I like to think of it like how in Tolkien’s wizards need there staff to make such incredible magical feats. What many don’t know is that yes the sticks are more like conduits, but those sticks also have magical Power stored in them as well.
