The Masquerade of Light

Light and dark, in a conceptualised, moral sense, has been a dividing factor in the destiny [self-made or determined] of the the individual for thousands of years. The individual has been prevented from succumbing to acts of “evil” by way of an idealistic “good”. Conversely, idealistic “evil” has prevented the individual from succumbing to acts of “good”.

These extremes are merely surface-level, for each has a dimmer switch. The switch connected to “evil” has been explored ad nauseam; in media, in the anti-hero and Robert. E. Howard-esque protagonists. But the “good” has never been investigated in quite the same way. By this, I mean that most perceive that after a threshold is crossed, the individual becomes “evil”, truly dark, an apostle of righteousness. But if we impart logic in the spirit of “as above, so below”, the simmer switch can be turned down much more if you are transitioning from light to dark than if you are transitioning from dark to light.

The switch can be turned nearly all the way down to the point where shadows become more prevalent but the light is still present, until it is switched off completely. If we apply this principle to practitioners, you can find that even the most outwardly left hand path and pro-individualist advocates are actually connected to the right hand path and anti-individualism; they’ve dimmed the light to form shadows but it is still light, still “RHP”.

This revealing comes forth when they attempt to influence others to take “trusted” or “sanctioned” paths, preventing them from experiencing pathei-mathos and obtaining an ontological understanding that is unique to the individual in the process.

There rarely exists those who let individuals discard with the scripted workings and regimes, and instead encourage them to go out into the unknown and find their own path with the tools they have. And then there are an abundance of those, who were/are held in rather high regard and have copious amounts of experience, who choose to push the opposite; for the individual to stick with the script, to stay on the path of “light” or “dimmed light”.

A cautionary tale if ever there was one…

God is Light.
An absence of light. Causes darkness whilst an absence of darkness is more darkness
