I was reading another thread about winning the lottery and the ensuing debate over the value of such winnings vs other uses of magick to bring financial success. Instant materialization of large somes of money either by direct materialization of a pile of cash or causing the lottery to sway in your favor would have the same effect on the magickian. The ability to materialize items in lieu of money or materializing financial success through other sources such as job, gifts, or investments would be of equal benefit to the practitioner. But for the sake of curiosity I would like to steer the discussion in another direction.

If I wanted to win the lottery would it be more effective to divine the numbers to a future drawing or would it be more effective to pick random and arbitrary numbers and then manipulate reality in a way that allows those numbers to be chosen?
Should I use an entity that specializes in luck in gambling, or one that can materialize money one that can change the vibrations of the lotto balls in the bin allowing my numbers to pop up. What about any particular entity that wants to bless me with wealth just out of his own benevolence? Would it be best to use a multiple entity ritual that aligns several spirits to work on the same goal but from different angles?

Along the same lines, can psychic awareness be tuned in such a way as to be able to walk into 7 Eleven look at the lottery counter and sense that the red ticketon the left bottom row is a $500 winner?

So please give any advice on this topic. Also list any entity you think would be useful in this pursuit. Divination techniques, astrological timing or numerology advice would also be appreciated. Share any success or failure stories to this thread and I’ll do the same.

I would go with a strategy to win in gambling/games of chance like casinos and things of that nature. The problem with the lottery is the sheer number of participants, I have no doubt magick can increase chances but the odds are still not as favorable as casino type games.

As far as magickal strategy I would do a combination all methods to gain an advantage. I would look for an entity to increase clarivoyance as well sharpen natural instincts and that “gut” feeling. Combining that ability with bending reality to your favor with something like a charged object should increase your odds over those in your general area vs playing a 100,000,000 jackpot lotto.

When you say luck at casinos were you referring to slot machine games, chance games like roulette or craps, card games like black jack or serious poker games. I would think different powers would apply to different games. Clarvoyance would help in card games, telekinesis for dice, and being able to read auras or psychically read the opponents would increase my winnings in poker. EA says the dead are great at predicting the near future what about summoning a dead to follow you into a casino and whisper where to bet on dice and roulette. Might work for predicting slots as well.

My thoughts ATM (as many of the questions you’ve asked are the exact same ones I’ve asked myself):

I’m convinced the approach to take (divination vs. manipulation/materialization) depends on your personal subconscious perspective on which one you believe would be “easier” to achieve. However, whichever one approach you choose to take should be applicable across the board, and what I mean by that is this:

In taking the divination route, your psychic faculties should be able to reveal winning lotto draws with just as much accuracy as revealing not just whether or not a scratchoff is a winner but also how much it’s worth, depending on your proficiency.

In the manipulation approach the same thing applies - the only belief that might pose a problem to you in this (for draw games only, though, and bigger ones at that) is if you somehow believe you’d be “competing” against everyone else’s desire to win (not to stomp on the toes of anyone who subscribes to it). I don’t see how this belief would apply to a scratchoff, though.

As for entities, when it comes to divining the future my first response is Vassago, though this may be due to personal experience (he brought himself to my attention without him ever being on my mind at the time) - there’re several other Goetics alone who can divine across time (view things past, present, and future) though his ability to view the unknown I think also caters to this as well. Bune seems to be the most directly associated with pure wealth out of them, though many of them can teach you skills that you can use to gain money, so that ultimately depends on your approach. Entities that teach clairvoyance would do wonders in this arena IMO, as WanderingFool said - personally, I’d say anything/anyone that would permanently improve your psychic faculties would be the most solid and reliable course of action.

I was thinking about the multiple-entity approach myself, and do have something of a multi-entity work in motion, though they weren’t summoned/communed with in the same sitting. The one reserve I had against this approach is overcomplicating the issue and, consequently, scattering focus, something that’s been a personal bane of mine for some time. I’d say if you strongly feel a multi-entity work would do the trick over a singular one and it wouldn’t scatter your focus/concentration, go for it. If you’re working from different angles I’d also suggest making sure the different angles/facets are seen as steps/methods united toward one focal point/goal - this might’ve been obvious but I know I had a bad habit of focusing too much on the different angles of approach, which both scattered my focus AND diverted from the overlying main goal, so I include it just in case.

Note: Most of the above is also my advice to myself and I’ve only been working steadily on it for a couple of days - what I can say is that having a similar approach in the past has yielded some pretty interesting results over a fairly short period of time (I just suffered from being a habitual armchair mage (cue the boos) and consequently let my momentum dissipate). I’ll post updates as I progress along, and elaborate (on experiences) where requested.

I believe that some of the “stage” magicians have some actual psychic/magickal powers, in addition to their stagecraft. And if you think about it, using magick to aide your “magic” makes a lot of sense - there’s a lot of overlap in the study and the type of time invested. Furthermore, having the aide of entities to boost your study and boost your image, creating opportunities, etc., it makes a lot of sense to me.

Anyhow, on a few of their specials, I’ve seen both Chris Angel and David Blaine walk into a casino, pick a couple of cute girls out, walk them over to a roulette table, and proceed to make them a bunch of money simply by picking red or black, doubling the winnings a number of times in a row.

Sure, this could just be tv-fakery, but I think it is quite reasonable for a person with that kind of dedication to the various forms of magick and “magic” to develop such skills.

I’ve found in my own experience that charging an Abramelin money square before going to the casino has helped me out. I’ve only done it a few times, so I wouldn’t call it a science just yet, but each time I’ve walked out either ahead or even. I think it’s a combination of “seeing” the numbers, as sometimes I will just see the right number and put my money on it; better “luck” / “forced luck” in that random choices I make keep me ahead - a number I choose becomes the winner; and being smart about probability - I go for the good payout choices that don’t have me betting against myself (single numbers, and the 3 to 1 sections that my number is in).

I have found that there are things the casinos can do to disrupt your flow and mojo. If you find yourself flustered, you either need to clear out your energy field (internal middle pillar perhaps?), or leave the table until you can get everything back under control.

I was thinking card games like black jack and slot machines to start out with. Indeed different powers would apply for different games, the only problem is that in a casino there are a lot of distractions so practicing the ability to get into a receptive state and stay in it while being in a new environment and appearing normal in that state would be the first few things I’d practice. I would want to appear normal ( relatively speaking of course) so as not to draw attention from the employees.

Having your natural gut instincts sharpened as well as your clairvoyant to help you feel when a slot machine is “hot” or be able to tell if you should hold or hit at black jack would be the experiments I would start off with. I would work my way up to roulette and craps since roulette has a lot more options to try and choose in a hurry and craps has the human variable and the inconsistencies that come with it.

If you had a partner in crime you could practice black jack to see if you can get consistent results before trying your luck in a casino. Have your friend start and stop the game at random times, play music you hate, listen to Gilbert Godfrey read erotic prose etc to work on maintaining clairvoyance in a distracting environment.

There is a book called the Tarot Gambler which uses Tarot to pick the winner in sporting events. I have no experience with it but it may also be something you care to try.

How about you evoke a spirit such as Vassago or any other spirit that can reveal the future and simply ask it to give you the winning numbers?
