I imagine the correlation is that someone deeply empathetic is more inclined to be gifted with sharper psychic senses like telepathy. I’m probably wrong because it’s a joke though.

I can believe that, I have been an empath since childhood and now that it is beginning to get stronger I can pick up on peoples surface thoughts without even meaning too.
