I think ‘competent’ is a very different thing in reality than what we think it is. I once asked Geomancy if I will become a powerful magician, and it denied that it was in my path, and yet when I do magick I know what I ask for will come to me, which to some might seem decent and further than where they are, and is enough power for me. I’m thinking that perhaps those stories of magicians that we think are very far fetched might even be the actual power of a true Adept.
