Purchased some tarrot cards today - dark goddess set.
Any advice, tips or anything for a newbie?!
Bond with them before using them. Hold them. Love on them let them feel your energy. And be ready to buy more. They are like potato chips you can’t just have one deck 
Also, start small with your reading one card one question, then three card and so on. Study your book that came with it, watch YouTube. Oh and message me if you would like

The book talks about cast a protection first, best way to do this? There is no other instruction other than that lol
First thing first, get your energy I to the cards. Shuffle them constantly and keep them under your pillow when you sleep. From there start with one card daily readings about how your day is going to go. Compare notes about the day and the card you drew and see how they relate. It’s a good way to get insight to the cards since the little white books can’t tell you everything
