Sage is burned for cleanzing and banishing, can it be in a liquid form be used for altar clothes, etc when cleaning and setting up an altar?

Yes, I used a spray made of sage essential oil and water when I was in college for a similar purpose. Seemed to do the trick just fine

Well, I dunno about clothes, but I do know for shoes. I live in western Wyoming, hike alot and have been homeless off and on. Sagebrush (which is actually an artemisia, not a salvia, so ergo not actually sage) is the dominant species here and is used for smudging. We (native folks) also use it for athletes foot and put in in our boots to help with ranky feet…
