Race in Mythology and Fantasy

Both ancient myths and the modern day fantasy genre often involve heroes interacting with different races. In myth magical creatures would just offer a helping hand. In fantasy, members of human and non-human cultures would come together over over a common goal. Sometimes there’s a focus on racial tension, and possibly oppression. Sometimes being different doesn’t matter and cultures mix.

I love to use both myths and fantasy to represent real world issues.
