Yes i do too.

I had two ball pythons a few years ago but i had to leave them with friends when i moved out of state.

I recently got a new one… and hes different from other two. The ones i had before were never snappy and never once tried to snap at me.

But my new one is very snappy and it seems like the smallest things scare him

I know ball pythons like to stay balled up and spend most of there time in there hiding spot .
But he seems overly so. He wont come out until the middle of the night.
I know i have to handle him everyday to get him used to it. But he just seems extremely snappy. Maybe its because hes younger? My other two were a little older .

Mine tagged me twice when it was small. Just try to stay clear of its head. They dont like their heads messed with much. Just keep handling him and do the best you can.

I’ve heard about this, did you buy him from a pet store? Because that may be why. You’ll just have to make sure that you’re careful around him. He’ll eventually get used to you if you keep on practicing positive interactions with him.

Yea i know they ball up and protect their heads…
I guess i was expecting my old babies… and i got a young one whose not used to it.
I dont mess with their heads… i also thing he just shed … because he still has a small little piece on him i cant get off cause hes so sensitive to everything.
But im gonna try to.

See i thought about that … one of my others a friend gave me and the other i bought from a pet store that specialises in snakes…

But this one i got from pet smart… and i almost feel like he was neglected or miss treated

Sometimes they have cage aggression. If that continues, you can take away his hide to get him used to your presence. Also dont put your hand in front of the hide opening so that they feel cornered. Thats how I got tagged.

Im being careful. I just hope my continued love and care will pay off.

Hes a beautiful snake. And im happy to have him just not used to a snappy one.

But ill keep working with him.

I was so excited to have him. And im not giving up on him.
